Free Currency Converter API started in year 2014, it's now 2020 and we're up ever since. It offers free web services for developers to convert one currency to another. You are free to use this for personal or commercial application however it offers no warranty (See license below for more information).
Currency values are updated every 60 minutes. If you need a realtime web service or a service that updates more frequently, you may checkout the premium service at CurrencyConverterAPI.com.
If you're using the free exchange rate API in production, I highly advise you to have a fallback. One possible fallback are the premium and prepaid servers, as they are completely separate from the free servers and won't get affected with interruptions from the free servers. Or better yet, make the premium your main one and the free API as the fallback.
Convert queries accepts a maximum of 2 conversion parameters to avoid abuse of the service and to help maintain the health of the web services. Free API keys are also limited to one IP address. If you need more than the limit or if you need a large amount of requests, you may contact me for more information or check the faster and production-ready server at CurrencyConverterAPI.com.
If you appreciate this site, please consider supporting by registering to the premium service. Check the pricing for more information.
